My Dad claims that he saw something on tv today that said a wireless router and a cable modem if left plugged in for 24hrs a day, 7 days a week, accounts for up to 10-25% of your monthly HOUSEHOLD power consumption. I feel this is total bull, the LED lights just mess with his OCD (he's a nut when it comes to electricity use). My question is, is there anything I can show him to prove him otherwise? Does anybody know how much power these things actually use?
My router is - Netgear 54MBS Wireless model WGR614 v7
My modem is - Arris CM450A
when i first got them and set it up everything was great but ever since i unplugged it one day to save energy cuase i wasn't using it know the cable modem keeps loosing the internet connection a bunch of times randomly and daily it's become a normal thing and the router i can't get running normally at all what can i do?
